Toyota Rav 4,both keys have fallen apart ,car only 3 years old.very low milage, any advice?

Surely car is still under warrenty? I was under impression Toyota had 5 year unlimited mileage warrenty?
But let me guess, keys not covered under warrenty, right?
Go to citizen's advice burerau, or equivelent, and see what they say, if they are no help, then you can always try to get your local newspaper to print a letter, and try to shame the dealer into helping.
If the keys are of the chip for the immobiliser type then this next bit of advice won't work, but you could try going to get some new ones cut at a place like mister minit, or see if the could put the metal toothed part in a new case, to retain the chip part.
Sorry couldn't help more, but whatever you do, don't let that dealer beat you, give him hell, remember, you pay his wages, so if all else fails, he can't stop you handing out leaflets to all his other potential customers, just outside his forecourt, telling them how unhelpful he is, a couple of lost sales worth £XX,XXX pounds and he'll be thinking twice about 200 euro's!!

Get some new keys
If they have just fallen to pieces without being damaged,contact your Toyota dealer.Explain the situation to them.It might be a common complaint.If they cannot help,ask for the address and phone number of Toyota Customer Care,and contact them personally.If it is a manufacturing fault,they should look on this favorably due to the age of the vehicle.If it is a fault with the keys,Toyota would like to know anyway.

If it is still under warranty then you might get them replaced. If not - it is worth trying anyway then writing to toyota customer services if you are not happy
I have a RAV-4 nearing 5 years old but haven't had your problem with the keys. However, I did have trouble with the brakes and subsequently, the local Toyota dealer who was rubbish. I wrote to Toyota head office in Japan and even they didn't want to know, so I don't hold out much hope that you will get the problem sorted for free. Better to bite the bullett and get new ones. Do you still have the master (grey coloured) key with the numbered tag on it? You will need that to get replacement keys.
Toyotas have a 3 year warranty with a certain number of mileage. Kilometerage? Anyway. If it's within 3 years they'll fix it. If not then you are out of luck. Even I can't be sympathetic with you. I have owned cars more than 20 years old. The keys get lost before they ever fall apart. How is that even possible under normal wear and tear?
