At what year does a bike fall in the classic reg and become road tax free and how do you get the v5 changed?

Answers:
most states its 25-30 years. same as cars.
Best thing to do is get in touch with the DVLA they will tell you how old it has to be to become to become a vintage .I believe it is 25 years old my TR7 was a classic and that was 25 years old plus whilst asking the DVLA about how old to become a classic ask them how to get your v5 changed they might even send you the relevant forms out
I assume your in the UK?If so the cut off date for road tax free is 1973(January I think?),after that you pay tax.25 years does not apply.A "classic" is a grey area which, for example can be applied to a bike from the '60's,70's e.t.c.or indeed modern bikes sucn as a Fireblade,R1 or Ducati,MV e.t.c.To change a V5-contact the DVLA Swansea.
