I wouldn't go any larger than 16" either. The '06 Accent (what year is yours?) comes with optional 16-inch alloys and the tire size is 205/45/16. That's already a pretty low-profile tire size. If you get larger wheels, your tire is going to be very thin, like 205/40 or 215/35, and those sizes are going to be hard to find, more expensive, and if you hit a really bad pothole, you'll be shopping for another wheel. Check how common/expensive the corresponding tires are going to be.
