VW golf GL - maximum engine temperature?

what is the maximum engine temperature my VW golf GL 1992 should get to. Is 80 degrees Celcius ok?

The normal working temp is 80 to 90 degrees.
80 degrees is fine, its well under water boiling point
You have to do the conversion. 212 degrees Fahrenheit is boiling and that is too hot. Take that down by 22 degrees to 190 and that will be the highest you should let her go before turning it off to save the engine Boiling point of 212 is raised by the addition of an antifreeze and coolant.
