I just bought a motorscooter from thailand. what problems will i have to get it certified for uk roads?

its a suzuki 125, with a different model number to what they've heard of in england. does anyone know insurance companies that specialise in overseas/imported bikes?most companies i've called won't touch me cos the model's not registered on their system-even the official suzuki insurance company-there's confidence for you!

This is a minefield! First you have to pay import duty, based on what Customs and Excise THINK your bike is worth. Then you need to register your bike with DVLA, which involves a Police check and possibly also DVLA might ask you to get it MoT'd. Finally you need to get it insured and taxed. Insurance will be a problem, but try Footman James or Carol Nash, they seem the most helpful to unusual insurance needs. Good Luck!
