Why do you want to remove the rear suspension and make the bike more uncomfortable?
I suggest you fit a sprung saddle because the only rear suspension you will have is the air in the back tyre.
a hard tail will not handle either as the tyres have to work harder.
if you ride reasonable quickly or on country roads then your riding style will have to change and you will need to set the bike up for the corner earlier and expect the rear tyre not to grip as well or last as long as you are asking it to do all the work of the suspension as well as grip. Try fitting a hard compound touring tyre to get more life from it.
Ive had two hard tails and to be honest at 34 my back is fu*ked, stick with suspension, it was invented for a reason! lol
