Why are bikers like outlaws to the cops?

why do we get a hard time off the police

Answers:
There are probably two groups of motorcyclists who give a bad name to the rest: bikers (a term which generally means motorcyclists who are, or appear to be, Outaw Bikers - e.g., Hells Angels, Bandidos), and squids and their ilk (young punks on race replicas who think it is somehow socially acceptable to be tearing up the streets like there are no rules).

The cops deal with enough of each to colour their view of all of us - the first group for their criminala activities and the second for their hazardous riding - I'm sure most cops have seen their fill of body parts and other carnage caused by irresponsible riders.

Does this make the second group that different from most young drivers? Probably not - but most young drivers can't buy the kind of performance that most young riders can.

My experience is that if you ride in a reasonable manner, you don't get hassled. And if you don't, but still act responsibly once pulled over, it is no more painful than getting pulled over in your car.

If you don't want to get pulled over at all, but still want to ride a sporty bike, look for something that doesn't broadcast "speed" - a silver VFR, e.g.
Because of our history. Like Hell's Angels and everything. But trust me, I know exactly what you mean.
they look after bikers because they are different on site and they instantly look there
It's easy to single out people who are different and considering how a few bikers can make all of them look bad, it doesn't bother people all that much. It's perfect, boost your ego by hassling somebody, but not annoy a lot of people.
I've been riding for 20+ years and the only time I've been given a hard time is when it was deserved. I admit I've done some stupid things and been called on the carpet for it. I've noticed however that Harley's and sportbikes do get more attention from the long arm of the law than the Yuppies on BMW's or Goldwings.
I've been riding for 30 years and don't know what you are talking about. I've not once been harassed. I've gotten speeding tickets I deserved but was treated respectfully and have gotten more "breaks" from them on two wheels than I have on four. If this has not been your experience I'm sorry. Perhaps your local cops have a problem or perhaps it's the f. y.. sticker on your helmet.
Ive been riding for almost 20 years and have been pull over three times.
1 for an unstable load. Mira Loma CA
1 Burnt out tail light. Lakewood CA
1 Speeding. Tijuana MX.

All valid, No tickets, 1 bribe (guess where)
the have watched way to many hollywood depicted biker movies.
One word : JEALOUSY
Because most cops are conformist, most bikers aren't.
Actually theres not. No different then a group of ANYBODY doing dumb *** stuff. Its just a matter of numbers. One thug one cop no problem large group of thugs and one cop then there is a problem.
