Fault with citroen xsara H D I?

The car misfires at low revs it has been on a diagnostic machine and came up airflow meter put another airflow meter on but fault persists any idea what could be wrong.

Answers:
Did you have the computer reset after you put the new air flow meter on ? it needs to be reset to recognise the new part you have fitted ! If you have fitted a 2nd hand part do not assume that it is ok ! get the computer reset and it should be ok ! good luck
my guess would be the diesel pump, on diesels the pump controls the timing instead having a distributor like u would on a petrol engine
The timing on these vehicles is electronically controled not by the fuel pump as these vehicles are common rail not like traditional injector pump engines. If you get your local garage to have a look at the egr valve on the vehicle as these can sometimes stick open on these vehicles. If you have put it on a diagnostic machine have you had a look at the live data to see if it corresponds to what it should be ??

Let us know !!
I have a Citroen relay HDI its been in a Citroen garage for 10 days with the same problem. they have now sent it to diesel expert . its going to be expensive.
there was a fault with the multiplug going on to the air flow meter.
its a grey 6 pin plug and the earth wire was being affected by electrical spikes in the loom as it runs along the bulkhead. go to your local citroen dealer and ask for the diagram and repair it yourself. you are just putting an (earth onto pin 3 and 6 I think it was) dont try it till you get the diagram you could spike the ecu. as the person said earlier check the egr. but I would have thought that the egr would be open or closed which would mean will run fine or wont run at all.
lets know what the repair was please it would useful
cheers
may be an injector sticking as they are electronic on thisengine,
