Vegetable Oil in my diesel vRS?
Has anyone ever tried this?
Will it harm the engine?
Has it made much difference to the acceleration?
Answers:
you can run on veg oil but it will stink like a chippy you can also have your car impounded 4 not paying fuel duty also if you drive hard over distance you risk blowing your engine
I have heard this, but not tried it.
I have heard of horror stories of cars smelling like chips coz of the heated oil. Might be cheaper, but do you really want to stink of greasy chips? I suppose with the money you save, you could buy an air freshner or two!
Let me know how you get on!
its best to mix it, use clean unused veg oil, and mix 1 third oil with 2 thirds diesel. works with any diesel engine and doesnt harm it. but whats the point because diesel is cheaper!
It is called bio-diesel and you want to buy it from a company that manufactures it or search on the web to learn to make your own. Warning most car manufacturers will void your warranty if you use straight bio diesel. Check your manual.
Usually the glycerine is removed from vegetable oil before it is used as a fuel. You might get away with it with some engines?
Wouldn't risk it if the car is one of the latest generation high pressure deisels it will knacker the pump & injecters
