I have a story (in hand) set in France just after WW2 where 2 characters are going to travel from Paris to Sth coast. I want to find some/one/where who can advise me on authenticity's - re routes and approx times / sleeping cars / fares etc. Anyone know of such a one / place? Please?

You may want to visit the site www.ahicf.com. This site is dedicated to the history of the SNCF and is entirely in french but if you send a mail in english to ahicf@club-internet.fr, you will surely get an answer. A word of advice for dealing with the french: always start with the excuse that your french is less than perfect and that therefore you're obliged to write in english; this simple and polite trick usually works and you'll find the french very friendly and helpful for ever afterwards ;)
can't really understand the question sorry.
You could start with the following websites
http://www.culturespaces.com/train/.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/soci%c3%a9t.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/history_of_.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/mus%c3%a9e_.
Good luck!
