I am looking to buy a VW Polo,is ther much difference between a 1.2 and a 1.4 engine?
Answers:
About 200cc
About 200ccs.
it all depends what you want, 1) higher mpg 2) a bit more power
yes, exactly 200 cc! In basic terms though, if it's quite a modern car there won't be much difference in performance or economy. If you are young or it's your first car, go for the smaller engine just to reduce the insurance premium slightly. The only people who will tell you that there is a big difference between them is a boy racer who owns a 1.4 and thinks it has more status than the 1.2 version. It doesn't, they are both compact, generally economical useful city cars. Good luck.
i had a 1.4CL. it was quite slow, but does the job. with the 1.2, you do have to thrape it to keep up with the traffic. Nice solid car though. i would go for the 1.9diesel, or 1.6 petrol.
200CC
I have a VW Lupo with the 1.4 TDI engine. I would go for this one, its great around town - lots of torque to out accelerate all the fat, heavy cars with undersized engines (Mercedes, Audi, BMW). It economical and still quick enough to lose your licence.
Have a look here for information on the two you're enquiring about
0.2!
very little, i would say drive both see what ya like then look at fuel econ and tax/insurance and see if it worth it.
