Audi remote central locking?
Answers:
The aerial wire on the controller is either broken, or coiled up.
You need to track down where it is and then replace, or extend the wire.
I fitted remote locking to my S2 Avant a while back and ran the aerial cable up the A pillar and along the roof line to the rear of the car. I could open and close the car easily from over 20 metres away.
Your biggest problem will be finding the box. A dealer may be able to help you, but they'd probably charge you a small fortune for the pleasure. Try asking an alarm fitter if they can tell you where to look. They know where all the electrical gadgets live.
It is more than likely the fob is broken and lost its range than the pick up lead, but still worth checking out
some Audi's have a in-fared detector on the pillar on each side of the car between the pillars on a four door. This will look like a little rectangular box dark in colour. When you program the fob you will need two keys. Do not do this in an area with fluorescent lighting! this will interfere with the procedure. you will have to turn the ignition to on position with one key and lock the door with the fob then unlock the door within 30 seconds. If you have additional remote keys you can program them in sequence.eg press once, twice for second three times for third up to four codes can be entered.consult the manual for exact procedures. Most Audi's have the control unit on the pump which opens the doors.usually located under the rear seat by the battery.hope this helps.
