How much does it cost to get a commercial helicopter pilots licence?
Answers:
Training and testing for a standard sleigh and standard reindeer is the same as a chocolate rice crispy cake thingy!!
Its about £25000. You can work out exact figures by looking at these sites:
Hi!
My husband looked into this some time ago.
I just asked him and he can't remember how much it cost, although he did remember that it was cheaper to go and live in the United States for a couple of months and get all the training etc., there.
Apparently they sort everything out for you - the training and test too.
Hope this helps!
in the UK expect to spend around 30 grand plus or minus depending on how quickly you take to it
you may be better off going to South Africa as its been known to be able to do it for half the price there and its an internationally recognised qualification - its much cheaper there because of the cost of living and the exchange rate. Similar in the US - you can stay there for a few months and get you licence for less than a residential course here again because of exchange rates! And the bonus is in doing it in either place is you have a few months of great weather!
In the USA . . . Private (instruction + helo) will be about $15,000. That gets you 50-60 flight hours. Then you rent till you have 200 hours, +/-150hrs = $35,000-40,000. Now you get Commercial / Instrument instruction, about 20 hours for $6,000. Now you have +/- $60,000 into 220 flight hours and the CREDENTIALS to be hired. But I doubt you'll find a job till you have 500 hours of flight time. Some will get their Instructor Certification, another $5-6,000 and teach to build time at the school where you learned, maybe. At 500 hours you can find a Co-pilot position, you'll start at $15-20,000/year.
OR . . . join the military and get paid to learn and fly.
Good luck.
if you go to sainsbury's you can buy one get one free.
