I'm thinking of buying a used Honda CR-V?
Are new tyres a fortune to buy etc. Any help will be appreciated.

I suggest you buy a one-month subscription to ConsumerReports.org so you can see their database of automobiles. It's only $5, well worth it compared to the price of the car.
There's also Edmunds.com if you want to lookup what people have to say about them. People write reviews, etc.
Honda's overall are very good.
have a good look at the one you buy, but they are usually ok.

Honda is reliable. I had a 2001 CR-V. It was comfortable and roomy, and very easy to get in and out of. New tires aren't that bad pricewise. I put a size bigger on mine for a little more height. The biggest drawback was it was very doggy hiting the accelerator. I wanted more power so I could give it gas and get out of the way if need be.
Buy a Jazz instead. Cheaper, more economical, better for the environment, and nearly as much space as the CR-V. If you really NEED 4 wheel drive go for a Land Rover Freelander.
good a to b but if you are going off road look at freelander, honda are uber realibly so should keep going if serviced and tyres cost less than some more sporty cars do

The pre 1999 CRV's have a small motor, in 1999 the motor gained more horse power. The 2002-2007 all have the same motor size and 4 cylinder. The Honda Pilot has a six cylinder motor which is also in the Saturn Vue.
I drove a used CR-V for awhile and i loved it. It get's good gas mileage for a small SUV and it never gave me any problems. I say go for it, they're good little cars. :)
My parents have owned 4 Hondas and only had to change the oil regularly and put tires on one of them. They are the most dependable cars and hold their value! Honestly, I wouldn't worry, especially if you are buying it from the original owner. Have fun. The CR-V's are sharp looking cars! :)
Buy It. But its low on consumption.
