1998 Jaguar XKR - runs fine untill engine reaches 3,000 revs then misfires.?

New cylinder lined engine fitted in 2002 and mileage on new engine is 42,000

I had the same problem on two cars and found the leads would break down under load changed the leads on more problem.

probably ignition related, coil, spark plugs, leads.
start with spark plugs and ignition system
Best bet is to get an analyser on it. It may just need tuning. Take it in to a good garage.
