Bowing Clippers?
Answers:
There is only 1 Sunderland in flyable condition, located at Fantasy of Flight in Polk City, Fl. It hasn't flown in 8 years due to the very high cost. I was in Fl. last week and saw this aircraft in person, you can even board it. I specifically asked if it is flown, the answer was it is very expensive to fly and only is flown when a movie company pays for it's services. It is stored about a 1/4 mile from a lake and that lake is used for takeoffs and landings.
It is BOEING not Bowing
I dont know about Boeing Clippers flying but there is a restored Sikorsky flying and a reengined and rebuilt Dornier Wal flying too as well as a good few PBY Catalinas still going strong. The Sikorsky looks amazing btw.
There are still two Martin Mars flying boats in British Columbia. They are the largest water bombers in the world and far bigger than the Boeing 314 Clippers.
They still fly every year and you can take a tour of them if you go off-season to Port Alberni on Vancouver Island. Or find a large forest fire in the BC, Alberta, Washington area and look for an aluminum overcast.
