Answers:
The wide range of numbers is due to the varying weight of the models, and whether or not they they are loaded.
I have seen numbers as low as 6000fpm, which is actually about the same as a loaded mirage 3.
The numbers that are published are usually unloaded and without radar. combat performace is much different.
The importat thing to know is that it was a very good fighter. It was never dominated in combat, even by the mig19 and mig21, which means that it must have had comparable performance with most other good fighters, like the f-8 or a-4.
All Hunters were capable of mach 1 in a shallow dive, level flt mks3,4,,6,8,9 speed 710mph at s/l 620 mph at height in clean format, powered by RR Avon, 10,150lbs thrust single shaft. Mk7 again powered by Avon but with less thrust, but speeds sim due to cross sectional area ruling coming into action.mks1,2&5 powered by RR Sapphire.
As for climb rate MAX 8,000 and that was only initial, faded out as it got higher.
