Public transport, which do you perfer?

Answers:
Even if my only alternative is walking, I would not prefer public transport. The government has not invested in this sector for decades, farming the responsibility and costs out to the private sector. They also tend to meddle and not encourage long term investment through short sighted policies.

The end result does not work, is overcrowded, expensive and dirty.
None! My car or walking!
I prefer the train, its quicker than the bus. THere are never any seats, but I dont mind as its only 20 mins or so
Trains.no.planes.no buses..oh 5hit . I dont know. Stupid question!
TAXI,there more reliable and tend to generally get me there on time..
train
None of them, my car is better.
none of it non of it works that well always late cancellations bad weather
I used to brave the public transport system but now I usually cycle or walk and if I can't do that I drive.

I won't give up driving now until public transport is cheaper, cleaner, more reliable and a more pleasant environment in which to travel.
England: trains are just about OK. Buses are mostly naff (uncomfortable, slow and roads are so crowded). Ferries are OK. Planes are more trouble than they are worth. Taxcis are a last resort.
If I was still living in Sydney then definately my car. But now I live in London and public transportation here is fabelous. I couldn't imagine driving around London. Despite track and road over the weekends, public transport is still great.
Intercity trains in Europe are comfortable. I don't mind going 2-3 hours in them, especially when I have a great book to read and interesting strangers to converse with.

Other than that, if I can walk, I prefer walking. Comfort wise, in Belgium and Netherlands, I prefer busses, but speedwise the tram always wins (it's not fair!) I hate trams in Brussels, though--they always make traffic jam and run into cars.
train, they're so much more comfortable and clean that buses - also you dont seem to get as many dodgy people on trains as you do on the bus
None. They all carry people who cough and sneeze openly.
Back in the UK I am sorry to say that I don't use it very often, but here in Budapest it is the trams. Some of them are a little bit antiquated, but nevertheless, fun to ride. If you use the link below, I go on the 47 to work
Taxi's
a taxi i cant stand being on a bus and having to sit by a drunken smelly old man who chats shi** or being bashed by school kids bags wen they get on the bus.
I'm in UK and hate the transport here, I love European Tramcars though. preferably the modern ones, fast and cheap (usually) and huge capacity.
Car of course if I cannot help it.
I've had to use the bus quite a bit, and given the choice, I'd avoid it like I'd avoid Wales or Liverpool. It's filthy, infested with chavs, overcrouded, and unreliable.

Having not had the funds for a car for a bit, I'd chosen to walk wherever possible. Not that I had much of a chouice in the matter.
well ive only been driving for a month. i had taken the bus for all my life basically but now i cant stand to get on th bus because i have a new car. i will ride the bus if i have to.
i like trains because they are fast, direct, comfy (if you can get a seat) and usually punctual.
Train if I have to use public transport but generally use my car. It is actually cheaper for me to use my Jaguar 4.0 to travel from my house to Plymouth City Centre AND back, than the cost of a 1 way ticket on the bus.
