Can anyone explain the main difference of a lister diesel engine to the types found in cars?

Lister diesels are an industrial engine generally lower revving and heavily built designed to run at constant revs for driving generators etc they are also heavier. A car engine is made with allot more aluminium therefore is lighter and more powerful for its weight. The life of a Lister engine is a lot longer than a car engine because its heavily made and because it is slower running. The very early Lister's (I have one) only revved to 650 rpm compare that to some car engines which do 6000rpm you will under stand why they last so long also the flywheel is heavier so acceleration would be very slow
A Lister engine is a engine that they use in tractors and JCB's stuff like that and not in cars. New deisels in cars are electronically controlled now like petrol engines but lister engines are still mecahnical. I think.
