Yes ken Livingston and the Government want to charge vehicles in tax band G the highest tax band £25 per day as they create the most CO2 emmisions and are the least enviromentaly friendly
vehicles in lower tax bands will continue to pay the £8 charge while vehicles in the lowest band A (ie-toyota pruis honda civic ima) will not have to pay at all.
On top of this some of the councils are thinking of following richmonds lead and charging 4x4 and suv owners more for parking permits
And worse is still to come road charging where you will be charged per mile depending on how much you use your car
dont look good for motorists in the future

Seriously, I think it may only be for large vehicles, or vehicles which have no business being in certain areas at certain times.
*So unless you have a 4x4 & you use it for the school run, you should be ok.

yes Mr Livingstone is becoming more and more blatant in his methods of robbing people. in 2009 all of the big 'gas guzzlers' like the big hum-vies, range rovers and alike are to be charged £25 per day for the dubious 'pleasure' of driving in London!! now there's something to look thing to look forward to!!
