How to derestrict mopeds?

Don't bother trying to make it go faster, it will only hurt worse when you run into something.
unfortunatly they are not restricted. If you want more power you need to change the exhaust and jets (in the carbs). The Chinese bikes tend to be quite lacking. If you want something quick and a 50cc try an aprillia RS50 (yes i know they are expensive) they are about the fastest 50 out there
Forget it. The brakes will barely cope with stopping you at 30. At fifty mph, you would be a danger to yourself and everyone else on the road.
At the moment, Chinese engineering is cheap, cheap, cheap. Quality is poor and any attempt to increase the performance will almost certainly be detrimental to the rest of the bike.
In the near future, I am sure that we will ditch our Japanese machines and China will be where all bikes come from. For the moment, treat them as cheap toys.
Simpy add another carb, one that fits from a larger cc model. Guaranteed not to be restricted then! ie 80cc models will fit straight onto a 50cc and dont have the restriction.
Also, uprate the brakes to a larger "pot" as the stopping distances are greater with higher speed.
check the exhaust pipe. i used to hop up tomos mopeds with an aftermarket exhaust. the stock pipe had an outlet about the size of a pencil. the replacement was closer to a nickel sized hole.
It's not worth the trouble. Get a faster scooter.
