Would you put remoulds on your car?

unlerss you are going to drive around at 40 miles per hour or less do not fit remoulds
I used them for a while. Had no problem. I was advised not to use them if I was going to do a lot of motorway driving at constant speeds of over 70mph for over an hour. Around town, they are fine.
When you hear the restrictions on use of remoulds you will be shocked. There is a maximum speed limit on them. Once you have had a remould strip at speed I can guarantee you will never ever use them again...
go for it mate! like the other guy said, don't use em if you're going too fast. and change them quite often cos they won't last too long, but my dad's used them for years (different sets..obviously.)
I just tend to do local driving so I would use re-moulds. It would depend on how my finances were at the time as well. I suppose it depends on how much driving you do..
Only if I was using the car for pottering around and did not intend to do any serious motoring.
in haulage we only use them on the back, goodns on the front

Hi, Personally i would shop around for a better tyre, there are plenty of good budget tyres on the market which are not re-moulds and fairly cheap.
As others have said, remoulds are fine for local, low speed driving, expecially on the rear tyres. If you put them on the front and one blows you can much more easily loose control of the car. At a speed of about 25 or 30KM you really are putting your life on the line in case of a failure.
Having said that, I had a set on my old Toyota years ago, and they did fine. I was too skinned for new to be honest.
Unless you only ever crawl about, get new ones - try shopping around. Give some thought o the incredibly small area of rubber linking your car to the road. Even on a little car, its asking a lot. Don't risk it.
i was in the tyre business for 15 yrs and youll have no problem with them as long as you dont go tearing about like a loony.theyr as safe now as new tyres.
ive actually seen them made in the factory and they only use the best quality worn tyres after a rigorous inspection.

You are never going to know where and when you will need 'good' tyres. It really isn't worth the risk!

I've run re-treads with no problem at all, starting with the first set on my first car. Don't listen to all the scare mongers out there. Passenger car re-treads are as safe as, and will last as long as new tires.
Many years ago, my father was concerned about the quality of the casings that were being used. He brought in his old tires to have them re-capped. How did we know we got the same tires back? We matched the serial #s.
My intro to re-treads - and I have never had a bad experience.
Never had a problem with them, if fact half the time the Re-moulds I have had were better tyres than the brand new ones. The only difference is that instead of a whole new tyre, the completly un-worn tyre wall is given a new tread. If the tyre wall is damaged tehy can't use them.
if your punto has 13'' wheels you should be able to get new tire's cheaper than that somewhere around 23 pounds. you will fell the difference and you will get less road noise and better fuel consumption.tyre's are one of the main things on a car as of the brakes don't forget new tyre's will stop you faster as well.
if you buy cheap, then you end up paying twice!
dont do it mate, i had a friend that had the tread came off, he was going around a corner that the road service had sprayed with that grippy stuff, it was like a block of soft cheese on a cheese grater, not worth the risk, esp if you have kids.

No way! total rubbish. I thought they were going to ban the nasty things. a decent new tyre could be found for £20+ Seriously they change braking performance, handling, get worse when warm and wear away quickly.
