Why when i ask a question do people assume the question is about me personally?

Answers:
Possibly because your asking it. You can say my friend so people won't think it's about you personally. I sometimes do that.
Because we know. and you aren't fooling anyone.
Cuz most people pretend its a friend they are asking for.
I" have a friend" always means it me really!
Because your the one who asked it not your "friend"
did you have a car problem :(
unless you specify it in the question yeah they probably do
this is a question you shouldn't even ask..guilty conscious
Perhaps its in the way you word things??
Of course, you are the one asking the question.
How can you be certain they're answering about themsleves?

Personally, I'm answering from the point-of-view of my neighbor. He's a jerk, and so this answer is a smart-assed reply.
people here are presumptuous.and stupid too. these two combine to form a lethal dose of ignorance unrivaled by anything else on this planet.
Maybe it's the way you put your question. There are folk who assume the worst in everyone.
Sorry I'm not following you around just answering questions as they come along! You're obviously new to all this but you must remember you're in contact with people all over the world including kids so you're going to get all kinds of answers from downright rude to daft and mostly helpful. Let the daft answers go over your head because we all get them. Just take my advice from before and ask your questions properly. Better luck next time!
This question is about you isnt it, you cant fool me
I suppose because some questions are asked for personal reasons but I know what you mean. Most of the questions I ask is just out of curiousity or to find out other people's views on something, nothing more and nothing less, but still get some really outrageous answers! Just ignore it, thankfully most of the answers will be neutral, i.e. unassuming about you and just answer the question as they see it.
Because you're a crazy lady!
because thicko you asked the stupid question
i don't think so, i keep an open mind when answering, as if the person asking is debating.
you asked about the penalty for driving with excess alcohol. it is the sort of question people research when they have been caught. only to be expected that they would assume that you are asking on your own behalf. and..i thought i answered in a nice, helpful and unassuming way
cos that's how peoples minds work. If you're not guilty why worry?
