Ignorant drivers. what can we do??
Answers:
I think it's just that people in general don't have any manners, consideration or awareness of other people. I'm a similar age to you and always try to let people out if I can.
yea i know exactly wat u mean its ****!!!
i found this in the lake district when i was there, i had a crying baby (hungry) in the back i was sat there for 20 mins, no word of a lie, i was not happy! lets hope the same happens to these drivers one day.
i think i am too polite too, i always let others out if i see they have been waiting
Its very hard to dab your brakes when you have a clown right up your exhaust pipe but thats another question another day
lots dont some do it depends who and when a lot of the time, i let most out but if someone tries to push out/in i dont, but if there ways flowing always let them go. see a lot of ppl who let you out seen a lot of n00bs (normaly in bmw/merc) who dont
I hear you! I try to let people out when I can. sometimes I just don't notice until it is too late ( oops) I think some people need to retake basic classes every 5 years especially what to do when a ambulance drives close by.
sorry but thats the way of the road I'm sure that at some point you rushed by and didn't let a car pass when you could have. Everyone has there days when they want to be mean or nice. To bad those days conflict with each other.
some drivers are so..jerky and stupid and in so much of a hurry these days that they cant even do something for somone else. bet they never think how they would want it to go down if they were the one waiting!!! bet they get mad when no one will let them out either!! but they never connect the 2, noooooo, that would to much brain power for the idiots!!
I agree with you
Since you are a courteous driver let people do what they intend to do. You don't want to create road rage, which can result in violent situations. Just be patient & it will become your turn, I know the feeling I experience it all the time, but I ignore the idiots who should not be out there driving in the first place. There is no respect out there for the person who abides by the law. Sooner or later they get theirs, & they wonder what happened. You might try & roll your window down & ask can I come out in front of you.
You want to drive out here in Canada. I've no idea what they teach them (I'm a Brit), but they stick in the same lane despite how fast they're driving and will they budge over to let you out? Will they dappy dips! It's absolutely amazing how glued their eyes are to the front of their bonnets. Talk about tunnel vision, I don't think they realise there are other vehicles on the road, let alone make room for them.
They'll come from the outside lane and dawdle (and I mean dawdle!) across your front bumper, AND in front of the lorry in the lane next to you, to take a turning they should've prepared for a mile back!
Same with parking (and you should see the size of the parking spaces over here, they're massive). Reverse parking! I laugh my socks off watching them (men and women!). And don't get me started on their parallel parking! They wouldn't stand a chance in the UK, and on the Continent - forget it! But they are such lovely people that you have to smile! Bless!
The traffic must be kept flowing on our roads, the highway code states this,so your example should be a good one to other drivers-to let people out and keep the traffic moving freely-it really doesn't take much, well done-keep it up! However, when some people pass their tests,it is a well known fact that the highway code goes out of the window, not needed any more.
Those aren't ignorant drivers. They just know that if they let someone like you "out", you will drive below the speed limit and hold them up.
If you are sitting at a junction for "hours", you should find an alternate route.
I know what you mean, it is frustrating and annoying, but on te other side of the coin if somebody stops to let you in, everybody else has to stop too, thats say 50 cars he's been really ignorant to in order to be polite to one. And if it's very busy that will create a bottleneck that could take 30minutes to clear. I agree wth both sides, there is no right or wrong answer to this, as it's equally frustrating if your stuck waiting for ages just for a gap in a seemingly never-ending queue of traffic.
1st off. flashing. has only one meaning in the highway code.. a warning that the vehicle is there, it gives you no right of way.
As to letting people out of junctions.why? I let you out at this junction, you let someone out at the next, they in turn let someone at the next, before I know it I'm getting no where fast.
What can we do? NOTHING!
I've been driving since 1960, and there have been ignorant drivers for as long as I can remember.
Here's something to repeat to yourself daily:
LORD, give me the power to change the things I CAN change,
the serenity to accept those things I CAN'T change,
and the WISDOM to know the difference.
You will sleep better, and be a more patient driver.
part the problem is that there are far more cars on the roads today, and nobody has time anymore
i guess i'm sometimes guilty too, who's perfect?
