My son is 8 and over 135cm does he still need to use a booster seat under the new law?

Since you refer to the 'new law' I assume you mean the UK legislation introduced on 18th September 2006. The two important facts as I understand the legislation are a child needs a booster seat if they are under 135cms OR they are under 12 yrs. These are alternative tests so you could have a child who exceeds 135cms who is under 12yrs and therefore does not legally require to have a booster seat, and you could have some one over 12 yrs but who hasn't reached 135 cms and does require a seat. Type in 'child booster seats' to google and you'll get a wealth of information, suppliers, recommended products for both UK and elsewhere.
No the limit is 135 cm tall
Where? Every US state (and each country, I would guess) has different rules.
i'm not sure what the exact measurements are but i have a 9 yr old that has to use one!! and ohhhhhhhhhhhh is she mad! lol.the thing is, i've been trying to buy one for a few weeks now and they are all sold out in the shops..Stupid governement rules..what ever next
he needs a booster seat if hes not passed 4"9
Its not about the age its about the size that they r. 135 cm is the size.
in the US he does NOT have to be in a boster seat any more congrats!
If he is over then no.So you can relax. My boy sit in a car without one gust fine.
Nope, he's fine to go without the humiliation of a booster seat.

Obviosuly, the law has confused some, but hopefully, folk can soon get usd to them, and not end up paying toward the chief constable's retirement.

Basically, if your kid is under 12 and shorter than 135cm,, he needs a booser seat, though if he is EITHER over 12 or over 135cm, you don't need one.
nope as long as he's over 135cm he doesn't need to use one
no just put him in the boot
UK law. If he is over 1.35 metres or over 12 years old he does not need a booster seat.
If only the height were to be taken into consideration, some teenage girls and petite and not so petite mature women would need to use booster seats. Surprisingly even New Labour were not stupid enough to insist drivers under 1.35 metres use a child booster seat, did they steal the policy from someone else I wonder
hi
The age is irrelevant as it's the height that's important. The whole idea of it is so that children are properly supported across the shoulder by an adult seatbelt. So a 135cm 12 yr old will fit in the seatbelt just as well as a 135cm 9 yr old.
So long as he is over135cms he does not have to use a booster seat. The law states that any child over the age of 3 must use a booster seat untill he reaches the height of 135cms or their 12th birthday whichever comes first.
No, he is okay to travel without a booster seat. My son is 9 and way over that height, so again he is okay, so says all the information and his after-school club also bought seats only for those kids under 135cm.
