Reported to the police?
baring in mind that its there word against yours, no actual proof?
Answers:
you might be cautioned
YES !
Police typically can't do anything.
Yes you can
Of course not, the police need to actually catch you committing a road traffic offence.
If they are lying and it is their word against yours take it to court.
Not from one person. The police know people say things that are not true. They have to have proof. If there are more instances and more witnesses than you may.
Most states won't do anything official unless a police officer actually witnesses the alleged offense.
No in a nutshell..Proof of some sort ie photographic evidence or x amount of witnesses.Word of mouth is not good enough.
I dont think so, there has to be proof.
Sure you can and you can be jailed for it as well. Someone almost ran me over, what a loonie he was.
It's BEARING and THEIR word, and no, you're fairly safe, I would have thought.
If there is no proof, there can be no crime - innocent until poved guilty. but if you can't drive properly - Don't..
Well, for one thing, if you are going to defend yourself, learn how to spell anything correctly! Yes, you can.
They have to look into it. I don't know that they can do anything but it would be considered a police report and they have to look in to it.
you answered your own question - no actual proof
That depends upon two things. Were you video taped? And are you driving a company vehicle? If either answer is yes, then yeah, I'd say you might get yourself into some trouble. Also, who called on you? Was it the police chief's wife? Hmmmm..
Police can't really do anything until you are caught. Practice more driving with some one before alone. . Pem
Only if there are witnesses or Cameras would you like to confess to something?
Improve your driving skills and you won't have to worry about it anymore.
The English system works on the "complaints system". Somebody makes a complaint to the Police and depending how important the complainer is, the Police may or may target the "victim". Businesses and politicans use such tricks to get back at their rivals and enemies.
As most drivers have got awful driving behaviour, you should work out who your enemy is!
No, try reporting someone and see what reaction you get.
Yes!
Learn to drive and report anyone who drives like an idiot.
For all our sake.
No, do not worry, someone is trying to scare you. The police would not even consider such a complaint in most countries unless of course you damaged some property, hit or injuired someone, killed an animal or do not have a driving license.
If any of the above apply, the becareful. They would not drag you into the police station nor arrest you, but they will keep an eye on you and that is easy.
Unless you are drunk driving and weaving and almost causing accidents, there really isn't anything the police can do-what kind of bad driving skills are you talking about?? Someone sees you speeding and takes your plate and calls the police?-they WON"T do anything. If it is road rage or you have contact with that person that is different.People are driving and seeing other people do stupid things all the time-police would be up to their eyeballs in citizens complaints. They are too busy.At our PD here, they won't even write an accident report unless both parties come in. PS Take a driving course and relax
hahaha does this mean you been driving bad! tut tut lol ah well better hope no one HAS reported you! Or hope that no police are checking this out rofl!!
The Police can charge you if there was clear evidence of a crime being committed. Reporting you for speeding will not allow the police to proceed because there is no actual evidence of the speed that you were travelling. Crossing double white lines and overtaking on a bend does give them sufficient evidence if the witness is credible. If someone has reported you, the Police may pay you a visit to advise you on safer driving.
Sorry, jessiekatsopolous
but incorrect spelling (and poor grammar) are not yet a crime.
I don't suppose they ever will be now.
What a pity!
It would make reading answers more bearable.
Strange really, when there is a check spelling button immediately above the answer box.
Yep. in theory.
Watch out for police cautions, if you acceot one it counts against you like a conviction so call their bluff.
yes you can and fixed penalty
NO
