How come some people seem 2 hate cyclists? I know some are bad but not all, much the same as drivers really?

Cycling is cheap , gets you from A---B faster., cycling is pollution free, healthy exercises and reduces traffic volume, .by there use .
Cyclists are very vulnerable in busy traffic ,
Especially when they weave their way around slower vehicles. and in bad weather
The car /lorry driver in heavy traffic, is very stressed anyway,
they want to get to work and then they see this cyclist effortlessly, forging ahead , where car drivers cannot pass.
So they get wild (up goes his blood pressure ), They swear, shake their fists, and carelessly clip the cyclists off their bikes ,
Mainly because the car driver, is not concentrating on what is around him. And is annoyed when he sees a cyclist speed past him . (especially the ones, who give him the two finger salute LOL!)
The very best solution -- IS - dedicated cycle tracks !
Costs money, but saves lives and the frayed nerves of the drivers.
SO now they need to blame, something other than the cyclist , for their ire !

I have no problem with the cyclists, like you say good and bad.
I don't mind cyclists as long as they use the cycle lanes instead of riding in the road next to the cycle lane. What's the point of having cycle lanes if cyclists aren't going to use them?
Some people on cycles are road hogs and think they have more rights than anyone else on the road.
Personally I find that it is a simple law of physics, if it is bigger than me I move out of it's path. Then there are drivers that think that they should have all of the road and not give the proper respect for cycles. Let's face it, both communities have an overabundance of a**holes in them.
Sorry to say this but I used to love pissing car drivers off by doing whatever I wanted on the roads, it's a tribal thing, us against them.
Cyclists are fine as long as they stay in the lanes provided. they are a menace on pavements because you cannot hear them approaching at speed.
Every so often you will come across two or three cyclists who are spread out across the entire lane, side by side, pedalling along nice and easy, blocking traffic. Things like this do not help the general situation of peaceful co-existence very much.
It's not a matter of cyclists being brave, it is a matter of SOME of them being obnoxious, arrogant road pigs, the same way some drivers are.
The majority of them act like they have some right to the road and, for that matter, the pavement. They weave in and out of traffic and then get angry with car drivers who don't see them when they overtake on the wrong side! They also like to ride side-by-side and have a chat, very dangerous! In short most of them deserve the treatment they get on the roads. Sorry to anyone who does not fall into this category of cyclist but you are in the minority.

I ask myself the same question.
I cycle over 2000 miles a year and abide by all traffic laws and yet some drivers have no consideration for bicycle traffic.
Have to agree with you that not all cyclists are bad a small majority don't show any respect for traffic the same can be said for drivers.
I always give way to traffic and pedestrians and sometimes pull in to let other vehicles pass by, the roads are for everyone a little bit of care by all can prevent accidents and even save lives.
They move often dangerously fast on pavements - something bikers or drivers do not tend to do. Besides - cyclists have a tendency to feel too relaxed about the highway code quite often.
I live in London, where the vast majority of cyclists think the rules of the road do not apply to them (except when someone transgresses against them). Failing to stop at red traffic lights and not displaying head and tail lights after dark are the two most common complaints that motorists have against cyclists. Often both offences are being committed together. Motorists get justifiably upset about this as when the wannabe corpse damages their car after causing a collision, the motorist will either have to pay a huge repair bill or lose his/her no-claims bonus. And they will probably have to defend themselves against false accusations from the cyclist or the family of the corpse.

No problem at all with cyclists, good on them and I hope they enjoy the exercise.
I must admit, they do make me nervous at certain junctions, considering the one’s around I live are terrible for cycling, so I’m over cautions and I don’t care how quick the idiot behind me can find his horn. I’d rather offend the driver behind than run over the nice man/woman on his bike!
Oh and anyone who says 'most' cyclists think they have a god-given right to the road? Ironic since 'ALL' motorists seem to have that idea in their head.
