Cornish drivers?

i have recently moved to cornwall from essex and i drive a lot of miles in my job and i cant understand the mentality of the folks down here they drive in a completely different way to what i am used to for instance a 2 lane road junction with traffic lights all the cars will que up in the nearside lane leaving the outside lane completely empty so i can wizz up the outside laneand be first away from the lights. another thing that happens is when driving on a dual carriagway if there is queing traffic on the inside lane you will invariably find that a lorry or van will block the outside lane travelling at the same speed as the queing traffic on the inside lane it does my head in can anyone explain?

Many Cornish drivers own their own cars, pay their own insurance and sometimes repairs, unlike Essex where most cars on the road are company cars, so avoiding accidents rather than avoiding collecting 12 penalty points is the primary objective whilst driving. Cornwall also has some really stupid pieces of infrastructure, the Truro Bus Lane must rank as the most Bizarre but there is an horrendous downhill lefthander on a 70mph dual carriageway again in Truro which yoy would need a Ferrari to get round at 70, and the current roadworks near Indian Queens produce jams which rival anything Essex can come up with.but the Cornish are a race apart, some Bastard has a field near the Lizard he lets you park in for about £5 you walk a bloody mile and when you get to the Lizard there is a bloody free car park,
And they have bloody ferries where normal people would have a bridge, And Padstow, has a wonderful beach you can see as you get there, but it is actually a sandbank and is seperated from the shore by several yards of stinking water and mud yuck and in St Ives there is a road with signs saying 6'6" wide, plenty of cars are wider than that, And what a wonderfully evocative name graces one of the south coast resorts, Looe
The pace of life there is more tranquil, no need to rush. lol
I am Cornish, and yes I drive but I can honestly say I have never come across this before. Whereabouts in Cornwall are you? Anyway, just indulge them. There all a bit eccentric and odd and have their ways, but underneath their annoying habits there just mere pasties, trying to get on with their lives like everybody else. They like to do things slowly. P.S Maybe when I visit home I'll drive like that to, but am not aware of it. I will think about that the next time I am down that way.
The cornish are simple folk, not meaning dumb. they pick hitchhikers up, still, yes, these days, when you lot are all scared.I think it is you who must adapt. Lord knows what you do if you went to Poland. Get a grip..go with the flow
