How long does a provisional driving licence last?

Answers:
Your provisional license has a renewal date on it - the photo cards are only valid for ten years, and do have to be replaced.

Provisional licenses are not valid for two years - but your theory test certificate is, so once you've passed your theory test you've then got two years to pass your practical test.
2 years, in which time you either pass your test or renue it.
not sure check out the dvla website
2 years unless you pass it.
get your full licence asap!!
2 years
the licence lasts ten years.

every ten years you have to update your photo. (you have to change it every-time you move address though).

it's your theory test you have to re-take every two years.
2yrs.
i got mine about 16 years ago and it is still ok, i just changed it to the photo card licence.
10 years but passing your theory test only lasts for two years
2 years
2years and if you dont pas you have to renew it!
2 years i think
It says it's validity on the back of the plastic card or the paper part (if it's a UK license).

DVLA website will tell you.
No new drivers on roads please they are clogged up enough
with out L`s all over UK.
2 years
hey not sure that it has an expiry tdate on it but i do no that you have to pass your practical within two years of passing your theory else you have to re take your theory test again!! GOOD LUCK WITH YA DRIVING!
2 years, you need to pass your test in this time, and apply for a full licence, or you will have to re-apply for a provisional.
I think it may be indefinite as my husband has held a valid provisional car licence now since 1987 and its still legal.
mines expires in 2044 and I got it 13 years ago
your provisional driving licence lasts for 10 years from when you got it just like a passport
They last 10 years from the date of issue. You need to take your practical test within 2 years of passing you theory test otherwise you need to take the theory again
If you have passed - 2 years

If you have not passed then there is a date on the photo licence when it expires - basically for renewal.
your theory test lasts for 2 years, then you have to retake if you haven't passed your practical. I got my provisional at 17 but didn't bother learning to drive until 2 years ago (im 36!) only had to renew my provisional through medical reasons as im diabetic. its just your theory that lasts 2 years.
