Would anyone have directions from Bude to Truro avoiding all the roundabouts and congestion?

B roads would be ideal - Ive just passed my test and am exteremly nervous about the 16 roundabouts I would have to tackle, plus the busy traffic I would encounter on the day itself - I have to go there on the 15th of September (hospital apointment).

I have directions for the main 'A' roads as standard, but was wondering if I could get away with avoiding the main 'A' roads and roundabouts as much as possible?

Thanks guys
Terry:-)

Hi,
Congratulations on passing your test :>

It's a daunting experience when you first drive and I would say don't be nervous and apprehensive - A roads are nothing and after a bit neither will Motorways be!

Maybe you could drive at a quiter time very early morning perhaps as you can't avoide A roads and in particular roundabouts forever!
go to www.rac.co.uk
or AA route finder
hope this helps

You could fly!!
Seriously, you will struggle to avoid all of the roundabouts. If you try and go on some crazy route to avoid them, you will probably get lost and end up feeling more stressed out. Perhaps you should avoid driving there until you have had a bit more practice.

Best of luck.
By train
Relax, you are going to have to make a journey like this some time.
A couple of days beforehand study the route you are going to take.
Time of day will also be a factor, plan your journey and enjoy the ride.
Just do the journey.
Set off a little earler giving yourself a lot more time.
You have passed your test so you should be able to handle the roundabouts fine.
Just relax and drive comftably.
How else will you gain experience of other traffic?
In a few weeks you will be driving confidently all over the place.
Jump in your car now and go for a drive just to gain the experience, the more miles you do the more confident you will feel.
Go On its a nice evening go to SPAR in the next town for some Monster Munch.
You have congestion there? Try driving in London!
No seriously. The best thing for you to do is to use the A roads and tackle the roundabouts. You cant avoid them forever and the more you put it off the harder it will be for you.

Do a couple of practice runs first, and just leave your house with time to spare just in case you do get stuck in traffic.

Good luch at the hospital!
I cant help with directions as I dont know the area but I know how you feel.

I am currently taking lessons and the only thing holding me back from taking the test at the moment is my fear of roundabouts, I am fine with small ones and large ones as well when the traffic is light but during busy periods I tend to freak out a bit, I know though that by being easy on myself, taking my time and practising as much as I can I will soon master them all and wont know what the fuss was all about. You will too if you bite the bullet and just go for it. If you avoid the A roads and roundabouts all the time you wont ever get used to them. Face your fear as the saying goes!
go to your nearest poundland and get a road atlas ok you can buy it more expensivly from another shop but check poundland or similar first id suggest a gps system but im not sure if they will give you b routes go ask someone selling gps systems (eg halfords) but this is considerably more expensive than a map from a quid shop, mind you a gps system would put value on your motor when you flog it to buy a new car a map wont:P
