WHICH WILL SAVE MORE PETROL? 10 Street miles OR 17 motorway miles?

Answers:
Neither. They would both use fuel, not save it. The least would be used on the motorway all things being equal if that is what you are asking.
I think motorway because you're more or less at a constant speed and not stopping and starting which consumes more fuel.
Depends on the traffic. Would say 17 motorway miles as a rule as there is no breaking slowing down etc.
It depends on many different variables. One variable being the gas mileage your vehicle gets per gallon. I believe all cars get better mileage on the highway, but how much better it would be differs from car to car. Another variable is how many starts and stops there are on the way, slowing down and accelerating take up more gas than just continually going at the same speed, which one would generally do on the highway. I've also found that some brands of petrol get more miles per gallon, specifically BP gets better gas mileage than most gas stations in my area.
Motorway Miles
Getting the bus will save more petrol. As others will also be sharing the experience.
It depends how fast you are going on the motorway, i remember a rough rule of thumb of fifty miles an hour for optimum. At the bottom of car adverts you will often see fuel efficiency figures.
I would say Motorway miles especially with some of the motorways because you'll be parked up most of the time.
motorway as braking loses fuel. it also depends on how you drive but as a general rule motorway is better than town.
Generally 55 mph is about miniimum fuel burn, in a car some folk claim slower is more economical but I have watched enough on car computer MPG readouts improve as speed increases up to about 55 and then fall to know this is wrong.
Starting uses huge amounts of petrol so if the motorway is flowing freely and you can keep to 55 then Motorway will get you 17 miles as quick as 10 through town and use a lot less fuel
If however the plod have closed 2 lanes and the 17 miles takes 2 hours it is more economical to go through town.
17 Motorway miles I would Have thought[Why Are you a Bit
Short of Petrol].
Neither will save gas. Both will consume gas.
Definitely motorway unless you are stuck in a traffic jam
