Learning to ride a motorbike in the UK?
Does anyone have any experience riding smaller bikes? I'm a big lad (16stone +) so would riding a smaller engined bike be an issue?
Also, how much would it cost to buy a reliable 2nd hand bike with an approx 100cc engine?
Cheers
Answers:
yes 2 years then take cbt again if not done test,
you need a four stroke will pull better,100cc 125cc not fast but we all start some where, you could do direct access as you are over 21 that's cbt & test on a 500cc bike then you can ride any 33bhp bike i think its 33bhp in germany its 35bhp its eu standardisation lol
what ever you do enjoy ride free
you are right in what you think , have you never seen gangs of kids 4 or 5 up on mopeds dont worry you gotta start somewhere .you wanna learn as much roadcraft as you can before unleashing yourself on a speed machine.
Do a direct access course and get your full licence then you can ride anything. You are much safer on a bigger bike because you take up more space, drivers won't see you as a learner and you can keep up with the flow of traffic (or just overtake em). If you take it easy and learn your roadcraft you'll be fine just don't ride like a loon.
