Hi i am a foreigner and i got an international licence and my licence is expiring in 4 months!?

expiring in 4 months. So i applied for a provisional license ( I can use my international license only for 1 year). I don’t know whether this will be a problem for me to drive for this 4 months.

Answers:
I presume when you say you have an International Driving Licence, you mean the licence from your home Country if so, as long as the 4 months is part of the 12 month allowance, you can still drive using that licence. Please remember though, once you start driving on a UK provisional licence that you must comply with all the conditions of that licence, including being accomapied by a qualified driver, until you pass your test.
You cannot drive on a UK provisional licence without an experienced driver with you. If you still have your foreign licence then use that until the year is up. Or apply to take your test for a full UK license now. xx
i have the same problem (except my foreign licence has already expired) but im gonna go back to my country soon to see about extending my licene rather than trying to get a uk one.
Maybe you can change your original country's licence for a UK one, if it is a full one that is,I live in Switzerland and here most European licences can be changed foe a Swiss one, you then get the original one cancelled, I should enquire before it is too late.
A provisional drivers licence in the UK permits you to drive only if you have an experienced full drivers licence holder in the car with you. You are not allowed to drive on motorways. You should be making the best use of your time and begin preparing for the UK driver's test if you wish to remain eligible to drive motor vehicles here. This involves not just a practical driving test to confirm your ability to drive a vehicle safely, but also a written test that confirms your understanding of the Highway Code as it applies in the UK. If you have been driving for a while, it may pay you to employ a driving instructor to take you for a few lessons to iron out any driving habits that you may have acquired that could not be compatible with the requirements of the practical test. Good luck, and safe driving.
You willbe able to continue driving using your international licence until it expires. As soon as you receive your Provisional Licence I would recommend you find a driving instructor to advise you about taking your theory test and then the driving test in the UK before your international permit expires. When it expires you will be only able to drive legally with 'L' plates and with a full licence holder (held for over 3 years) to accompany you until you pss the test. Hope this helps.
Your IDP is valid only as long as the license from your home country is valid.

While you are still licensed in your home country you CAN operate with a UK provisional license without supervision or L plates and on motorways. You will need to get a full UK license before your home country license expires in order to continue driving.

Alternatively you should check with the licensing authority in your home country and see if you can renew or extend its expiry date by post.
go a day trip to france and get passport stamped ,,,same again next year.sorry too late you have already applied for a provo
you will need a uk qualified driver to accompany you or you will be breaking the law
