How hard can it be to fly a micro lite, do you need a license?

It's a shame that jbjt05 hasn't got a clue as to what he is talking about. As other say afterwards, there are two sorts, flexwing and three axis. Far from being wood and paper, they are constructed of the latest materials. You do not need to be Tarzan to fly a flex wing. They are so well balanced, they turn reletively easily. Bcause both types are almost powered gliders, small engines really only just big enough, engine failures are no concern as they glide to earth as a hang glider would. You MUST take training and you MUST obtain a license to fly solo.
Its different from flying other light aircraft (cessna or piper etc). As they are lighter, they are more prone to effects from winds, etc. If you have an engine failure that thing is gonna go down and you wont be able to do much about it. They are mainly made of wood, paper and a lawn mover engine.
Yes, you need a license, but if you invest in the money for it you might as well go for something bigger, its much more usefull because you can actually use it and go places. Microlights will almost always fly overweight. If you have 2 ppl and fuel you have gone over your 250kg limit.
There are many kinds of microlite reanging from the hangglider wing and an engine to more sophisticated prefab examples that have better performance than your average light trainer like a C-152.
You can learn to fly a microlite as long as you can reach the pedals and controls. Some require body weight to fly so you need to be strong enough as well.
You won't need a licence to learn with an instructor.
Its an airplane, regardless, its lighter than most and there fore more subject to wind ,thermal activity and such. Yes you need a license. If you have no stick time get some.Go to the nearest flight training school and take an introductory flight in something small like a Cessna 150/152 it is fairly cheap and you will be able to tell if you like the buisness end of an airplane. And have fun!
first of all they are 2 different kinds first is flexi wing i dont recommend unless you have a good stomach second is fixed wing 3 axis more like a conventional aircraft mo st microlights are fairly basic but stronger than cessna and other light aircraft and for licence you need minmum 35 hrs and 10 hrs solo.i read one other article somebody says they have lawnmower engines if there is any mower out there with 100bhp engine let me know
