Whats more dangerous to ride; a motorcycle or a bicycle?
Answers:
I work in an A+E/ER dept. I don't see as many bicycle accidents in adults as I do motorcycle ones. The speeds involved also make serious inj more likely on mb's. I have had 2 fatalities this year and a further 3 really messed up folk. I work half the week so it's more than that. I've never had a fatality on a push bike. On the plus side motorcyclists always seem to have the proper equipment on and cyclists don't always have helmets or pads. From what I can tell it's mostly down to visibilty of the rider and the alertness of the dim witted car drivers. Take cars off the road and I'd endorse both as safe.
I think that motorcycles are easier to control than bikes until you get up to high speeds. I rode a bike for recreations and I would ride on the shoulder and people would still swerve at me and honk and yell stuff! At least mototrcycles can keep up with traffic but the day one is in an accident riding a mottorcycle it's gonna be bad.
I say motorcycle for now..
a bicycle cause it's not that steady.
I think a motorcycle
Well, the bicycles will not hurt you much when they fall on their own. But motorcycle has sufficient speed to hurt you badly.
Definetly bicycle, i mean even when you try to ride them the FIRST time you fall down right!?
cause you gotta learn how to ride a bike first THEN only you can ride a motor cycle & you WONT fall off cause you already learned from the bicycle! get it!
motorcycles - lots of my m8s hav dies on em or been hurt
i think a motorcycle is more dangerous because its much faster and has very little protection.
Compulsory training has lowered the accident rate among motorcyclists; but it won't get any lower or help bicyclists until car drivers are forced to take a test to stop them being blind, aggressive, bad drivers.
I would say a motorcycle is more dangerous. Yes you may have a nice chance of injury on a bicycle but the majority of the time a minor injury which probably wouldnt be considered dangerous. On a motorcycle you have the option of speeding at 80mph and hitting a fault in the road and your flipping.. On a bicycle (unless you got super legs) you dont get the option to hit those high speeds which is why i would say a motorcycle is more dangerous.
Bicycles, drivers sometimes don't see them as easy as they see motorcycles.
depends how you ride, I guess.
3661 motorcyclists died in 2003.
524 died in bicycle accidents in 2001.
Most of bicycle accidents are caused by cars not seeing them or refusing to yield.
A bicycle. Drivers and other road user generally don't recognise your rights on the road. Bike won't offer any protection. I now drive everywhere.
A bicycle is more dangerous, other drivers are less likely to see you because your profile is smaller than a motorcycle, lack of a good day time "HEAD-LIGHT". of course alot depends on how you ride. You must be more alert than those you are sharing the road with.
i think motorcycle
Neither, as long as you know how to operate them.
The problem with motorcycles as opposed to bkes is that when you fall off a motorcycle you drag along the pavement a lot faster and a lot longer.
i think motorcycle, bicycle is more controllable than motorcycle n in the case of any incident motorcycle can seriouly injured then bicycle
Well, if your referring to a three wheel bicycle I would say that you are closer to the ground than a motorcycle any time of the day.
Motorcycle. You may have problems on a bike but they are at significantly lower speeds and you wouldn't have problems of bike hurting much if landed on you.
If you get a problem on a bike you can expect to be hurt much more seriously because of the speeds and forces involved; hence it is advisable to wear more protection.
Bikes are and always should be toys and so for use in the park only whatever your age. Motorbikes riders are impatient and should not weave in and out of traffic and should wait their turn and not overtake in queues. If both follow these basic rules then they can be safe otherwise they remain fair game for cars, vans and lorries.
bicycle because on a motorcycle you have enough power to avoid hazards/accidents
Neither is dangerous to ride.
The danger comes from wrecking or getting hit.
But you haven't defined "dangerous"
Is it fatalities per hours ridden?
Or injuries per mile?
But really, sounds to me like you've already made up your mind and you're just looking for people to agree with you. Is that so?
The motorcycle is more dangerous, simply because of the higher speeds attainable. I've been bicycling for 15 years and I've only been in a couple of accidents on the road. But, I don't know if by "dangerous" you mean "life threatening" or just injuries in general. If you mean injuries in general, then bicycling is probably more prone.
