Why would you want to import a 53 year old vehicle?
all ur brit friends would probably kill you and why spend so much on gas
Do it my mate has an older Buick roadmaster he imported just got a firm to arrange all the shipping paperwork you will have to alter the headlamp dip if it is a left hooker plus lots of other oddments you maybe better to go through a UK car importer specialising in stateside cars not all Brits like euro clone cars My dream is a SUPER BEE or a Charger R/T, you cannot beat the sound of a huge vee 8 throbbing along yes they drink lots of fuel but so do,s a well thrashed EVO but with a vee you don't need a laptop to repair it !!
a boat, proof of ownership, a letter to the dvla, an MOT, road tax and a big bill!!
Difficult to do by yourself. You need to arrange shipping, get a shipping agent, pay Import Duty at 10% and VAT at 17.5% (on top of the total cost inc shipping!).

You then need to get it SVA'd and an MOT. This will cost you between £500 to £3000. Registration and tax will cost £150. Add on transportation. New radio as well.

Several companies import this kind of vehicle into the UK. Try Auto Trade,www.americanimportcars.c. and importmycar.com
