Ive heard its a lovely place to live, very historic, being famous for the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The people are rather posh and wealthy. The cottages are cute!
worked in St Leonards a few years ago..the place was overun with druggies and wineos..shame bet it was a nice place once..
The battle of hastings actually took place by the village of Battle near Hastings in 1066. Hastings was simply the nearest important place. Hastings is quite nice, a bit quiet for my tastes though. The South-East is generally nice, a few rough parts, like anywhere, but generally nice. I only moved out of the SE due to my career. If it wasn't for that, I'd still be there now.

Nice place, worth a visit. The St Leonards Caves are quite interesting
