GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL LICENSING
12TH OCTOBER 2005
Glasgow City Council Licensing Committee confirmed
continuation of the current Taxi Licensing Policy at a
meeting on 12th October 2005. That is, there will be
no unmet demand for taxis until taxi licences fall
below 1418
24TH OCTOBER 2005
At a Policy and Resources Committee meeting, Chairman
Jim Coleman asked taxi trade to consider encouraging
taxi customers to taxi share in an effort to reduce
waiting times at weekend peak hours.
25TH OCTOBER 2005
At a meeting of the Licensing Sub-Committee, the
application for a tariff increase of approximately
4.16% was approved. This will see the initial flag
fall increase to £2.00. (Still to be ratified).
It is unlikely this will be implemented before mid-January 2006
