Why do people always hog the fast lane on the motorway?

Don't forget the middle lane drivers too.. in my opinion drivers shouldn't be allowed on the motorway until they have taken a motorway test.. why don't they just get the fact that they have to stay on the inside lane unless they are overtaking..
I tend to get so frustrated that I end up undertaking them. and guess who would be in the wrong if a policeman was watching. yep.. bloody me !!

It's a means of asserting control. Some people have so little control over their lives they find other ways to try to gain some. This is one of those things that wimpy people do to make themselves feel larger than they really are. Of course, this is just a theory.

They are either ignorant of basic driving etiquette or they're just selfish morons. I'd love to see a campaign to move 'em over where they belong - public awareness announcements backed up by enforcement.
Get it right, it's an overtaking lane. There is no such thing as a fast lane on a Motorway.
The rule in the UK is:-
You drive on the left unless you have a good reason to be on the right.
I know what you mean but the speed is irrelevant, if the other lanes are clear, they should be on the first lane alongside the hard shoulder.
They act like they are in a NASCAR race and are trying to hold track position except in Texas. Texas people are in general the best drivers in the US. Texas people move over when you come up behind them even if their is no lane. I have seen them run in the grass to let you pass. I like Texas people.
there is no fast lane on the motorway but how can you drive sensibly if those dam lorries are filling up the two inside lanes flashing there lights at each other every time they pass one another. lorries should be made to go in the inside lane only.same for those dam caravaners
because a lot of the British public doesn't know how to drive and use the motorway properly, which is very sad.

EASY!! The British drivers are the worst in the world and i know as i have driven in 8 different countries and 3 different continents.
They have no concept of LANE DISCIPLINE.
