been there done that, just had to suck it up and take what I could find. Insurance is based on your driving record and the ease of car repair. I would talk to an independant insurance represenative and see what they can do to help you, both for coverage and what would be an inexpensive car to insure in you situtation.
Also expect the insurance carrier to accept you only on a month to month basis. Best of luck, you are going to need some.

why not try taking that course that you are offered as part of conviction. you get to spend a day talking about facts reated to drink driving. Father in law did it ended up gettin his licence back quicker learning some useless facts he could share at the pub and secured the same rate of insurance as when he got the conviction. he jus had to pay about 50 quid for the course. good luck

There is no such thing as cheap for you with your SR22 filing that will be needed. And as long as you were over the limit, it doesn't matter if you were 'just' over or way over, it's over.
