20 year old looking for cheap car insurance?

I am 20 i have been driving for 2 years and i would a considering getting my own insurance. I have a 1.6 ford escort 1994. I want full comp insurance and the cheapest i have found it so far is £3000. I am considering having a sex change operation so i can apply to go for shelas wheels which i think would save me money.

Seriously cheap!
I was getting quotes from major insurers of £600 - £800 but these people offered me £380.
why would you want comp insurance on a 1994 auto? The premium is more than the car is worth! If you took the premium you paid for the comp insurance and put it in a savings account, you would make more money in the long run, because they will depreciate that car so bad you wouldn't get anything for it! Skip the comp, get the liability and you should be able to afford it.assuming you have a good driving record.
there is an insurance you can get that you only pay about $75
for a year, only propblem is that it dosen't give anyform of coverage. Its just used for the sake of having insurance and so the cops can't say anything.
and there is another one that only covers the other persons car which is about 4 payments of $150 a year
have u tried churchill
full comp on a 94? save lots right there!!!
Get someone older to insure it in their name with you as a named driver
Unfortunately you're not gonna be likely to find v.cheap insurance.

Im with the AA & as a broker they do the running around all the insurance companies for you. My insurance with them is £1000 cheaper than the quote I got from Tesco value car insurance & I have a 1.6l escort too.

Although its not ideal, it may be worthwhile to just get 3rd Party Fire & Theft cover til you got maximum (ie 5yrs or more) no-claims bonus, by which time you'll be over 25 & the price will have gone down cos of that too.

Even if you were a woman I wouldnt recommend Shiela's Wheels - the quote they gave me was so silly I fell off my chair laughing - just like Norwich Union (Quote me happy should be renamed quote me funny).

Good luck
try Norwich union pay as u drive. they put a tracker in your car which tracks where u are travelling and what times. you pay monthly
TESCO ONLINE INSURANCE
Try www.confused.com its a broker and covers about 97% of insurers
Tip - wait til you are 21 - I did
When I started driving in UK, I started with 3rd party car insurance and it saved me money. I have been driving for many years and was confident in my driving. But for you, discuss with your family about that.
