When you say motorised do you mean like the bicycles that you can pedal then when you want a rest you can switch to a motor which has stored some of the energy or an actual petrol using motor? if its the first then no you dont.
I would check on the dvla website, send them an e-mail or something, I personally cant see that you need one but if you are going to be using it in a public area you might do..then you get into the arguement about tax, mot and insurance!
