That depends on you as well and your driving record. The less the car is worth the less you will have to pay usually. Older and cheaper means less money I guess.
Tho I tried to insure a motorcycle that was worth about $6,000 and those bastards wanted $500 a month! Those are more dangerous tho. Also safety features can bring down your rates so older may not always be better if it doesnt have air bags and antilock brakes.
