Car insurance! Why has it gone up?

Why the funky chickens has my car insurance gone up when i now have another years no clames bonus! I've had no accidents nothing at all has changed apart from the price. I was qouted £330 last year and this year its about £400, some comedian even qouted me $3400. I don't understand why, surely it should come down? I drive a Mini one with no major modifications.

i dunno bout the uk but in oz the price of compulsory insurance has gone up. this is to cover children that get hit by cars regardless of circumstances, this is to make sure that the child can be rehab'd and to cover all costs involved if it were to happen. its kinda like a car tax. BTW have you moved houses?
cos this affects your ins 2
you need to change insurers. tesco are quite cheap.
Its mainly due to Chav boy racers having accidents all the time.
Car insurance rates are affected by one's age, driving record, accident history, special discounts/incentives, and the type of car they drive. You've stated only one factor--your accident history. What about the other factors? In addition to those, rates often go up as a matter of course, as do the prices of all goods and services (inflation). Now that automobile insurance is mandatory, they have more freedom to gouge, as well.
the newer the vehicle the higher the insurance
It could be down to crime in your area or something like that.

Insurance is based on postcode, where you keep the car, the job you have, etc. So each year it's defiantely worth shopping around.
I have the same problem.I get older.so does my car.and no accidents. Then why am I paying almost $700 every 6 months if I've done nothing wrong?

My best advice is to shop around. Some companies give discounts if you get your car insurance and home owners insurance through them. Try checking out some companies that give discounts depending on how long you've had service with them.
car insurance depends on other things that have nothing to do with you. Amount of claims on the type of car you drive, Location you live and profit insurance company makes. All these can add to your cost.
Car insurance is going up some 17% to 25% due to fraud . Shop around on net .
hi, my car insurance went up too, they said it was the increase in tax.i shopped around and saved 140.00.I went with the R.A.C.just shop around and see what's best for you, but read all the details first..
Phone round
Norwich union who I had been with for 30 years wanted more than twice as much for less cover than Saga, I got it even cheaper through a broker.
Sometimes insurance companies take rate increases across the board. Other times if you move, the rate can change. If you get a different vehicle, it can change. I am not UK experienced, so that's all I know.
Mini Ones are getting a bad name owing to all the women and chavs who now own them, tearing round and smashing into things and killing and maiming people.
The CEO of your insurance company wasn't satisfied with the wine he had to drink while vacationing all last winter in the Bahama's! Sorry chump, you're just going to have to dig a little deeper in those bottomless pockets!
change it if gone up, I change mine every year.
Its to fund those clever people who have no insurance but still have accidents. someone has to pay. So why shouldn't it be people with a conscience who pay each year.

If your circumstances haven't changed and you're insuring the same car as last year then it's probably down to your insurance company increasing their insurance premiums for everyone; not just you.

You need to shop around. For Cheap Car Insurance in the UK try The Broker Portal. Obtain a few quotes and then phone up the best 2; tell them the best premium you've had and they will probably knock a few more pounds off to get the business.

Most will allow you to pay by instalments as well.
