I bought a car on Sunday. I have already informed my insurance. the car have a disable tax this till may 2007. Can I still used it, if not I don't have my letter yet from my insurance usually take 3 days and also I don't have the log book yet. what i need to do

Answers:
Because vehicles for disabled drivers have a separate taxation class, you will have to 'cash-in' the existing tax disc, get the car re-designated as "Private / Light Goods" and obtain a new tax disc.
Even with all the correct documentation you will not be able to do this at your local main Post Office, you will have to either visit your local DVLA Office or send everything off to the DVLA at Swansea.
In the mean time you should be able to drive the vehicle, as long as you can prove that it is insured and you are in the process of getting the taxation class changed.
Don't know how that works - usually you could take over the tax disc - you would have to check with the DVLA.
NOPE and the old bill will get you for it. Don't forget the DVLA can fine you without visiting you!!
apply for log book at post office when your insurance arrives, the tax is illegal as will be registerd to a disabled driver, your insurance will be void if you have a crash.
nooooooooooooooooooooooooo sorry they no
Hi. Just remember, death and taxes are inescapable.
it is illegal and you can get an on the spot fine and also be liable for impersonating too.

plus a correct disabled badge has the drivers registration plate umber and photo on.

Special and/or vanity tags must be turned in upon transfer of the title.

You have only so many days, around 30 days, to transfer the title to your name and at that time you will be issued a NEW tag.

IF you don't have a disability, and cannot prove you have one, you will have to turn the tag in.

My answer is NO, you can't use the tag til May of 07. If you get stopped and you haven't transferred the title to your name, you will get a ticket and probably be question as to why you are driving someone Else's car. Good luck. Pops
Yes you can still drive.
not sure whether you can drive it legally with disabled tax disc, but you will definately have to make sure that the log book has the correct taxation class in time for your tax renewal, otherwise the postoffice will refuse to tax your car and you will have to re-apply for the correct log book which takes time.
yeah just dont get caught.
No you certainly can not. The tax disc signifies it is registered to a disabled driver and it is illegal to impersonate someone else. It should have been turned in when the car was sold.
The DVLA will pop a summons in the post when they get notification that you are the new keeper, well Nigel Patel, 54 Viaduct Road Selly Oak, or what ever your alias is,. will
You probably need to take the vehicle off the road while this is sorted out or until May 2007 whichever is the soonest.
DVLA is not noted for extreme intelligence and someone wishing to re tax a vehicle which is already taxed might just blow their tiny minds whilst submitting a form to surrender a Tax disc and to reclaim the amount of the money unused, in this case nothing, might actually strike a chord in their tiny bureaucratic minds.
no the tax disc should have been handed to the dvla you will then have to send the log book to the dvlato change from disabled to private use you can drive it when unnacompied by the disabled person as long as you are the registerd keeper and have the cars disabled certificate this info is held by the dvla
erm no.
You have to change it from disabled class to private class and surrender the disabled tax disc.
as long as you don't park or claim to be disabled
no only if the car is for use with the disabled persons business
I bought a car that was registered as 'taxation class- disabled'. Just send the log book, insurance, mot, and a letter to say you wish to change the taxation class from 'disabled' to 'private/light goods' to your local VRO (vehicle registration office) with a licence application form (from the post office) and payment for road tax. It takes a week or two to come through.

sorry but if you have disabled tax on your car it means the previous owner/driver got exemption from paying tax so it must only be used by or on behalf of the disabled person..sorry mate
