I need insurance to drive a friends car in NZ. How do I go about getting it? Is my UK driving license ok?
It appears dificult if I am not an NZ resident.
Answers:
The owner of the car takes out insurance and anyone can drive that car as long as you have a licence. Also, you need to carry your drivers licence with you when driving in NZ. You don't need a seperate insurance.
Have fun it's the best place on earth!!
The owner of the vehicle needs to add you to their insurance policy, you can;t buy it if you don't own the car and are not normally resident in the country where you are going to drive
your uk licence is ok and insurance is not needed ps try not to hit anything!! from NZ bloke>
Just take your UK license the vehicle is insured not the person If you have the old paper license like me just carry your passport with the license for id.I have just come back from Australia and was driving my brothers car there and the law is the same at least you will avoid the kangaroos jumping in front of you ..
