Cheapest rates?
Answers:
If you want to fly from Heathrow (LHR) look at the BAA LHR website as some of the middle/far east carriers use LHR as a tech stop on there way to JFK. Otherwise have a look at the Gatwick flights on the American carriers Continental and Delta they seem reasonable at present. The other way is to go to one of the European airlines hubs, Paris,Amsterdam or Frankfurt first and fly from there to New York. Theese are always cheaper. The travelling time is longer though.

Take a bit of time to search the Internet, First find the airlines that fly between these places and go to their websites. Go through the booking procedure until you get the price of the ticket then change the dates to try to get a better price. do this for all the airlines until you get the best price. You will start to be a expert after a few hours work. Fly before the middle of December before the prices go up or after mid January, fly tuesday to thursday.
You could ask a question here on the best way of getting a low price.
