I'll have a P please Bob?

You know how when you pass your driving test.. people have those things on the car with a green P on them to replace the red L?
What does that P actually stand for?

Answers:
Probationary as they have a 2 year probationary period once they pass the test.
No it's not law to display "P" plates but some insurance companys give a discount for new drivers if they keep them on for at least 6 months. Hope this has answered your question.
