If one of your low-profile tyres burst, does putting on a normal rim & tyre affect the safety of driving?

Just purchased a car with 16" alloys and low-profiles which I've never driven before.

Answers:
Extremely unsafe, and against most state's law to boot. You might do it, at slow speed, just to get to the tire shop and get it fixed, but certainly not for anything but emergency driving.

You 'might' get away with different size tires on the front and rear, but both tires on the axle need to match, and all 4 tires really should match.

Those low profile space saver spare tires they give you fit that category too, only to get you to the tire shop, despite several of my customers (I run a tow service) insisting that "The dealer told me I could use it just like the regular tire at highway speed." as I'm hooking up because their temporary donut spare has failed them and they haven't got the real one fixed yet.
no its fine
its illegal the 2 front n 2 back have to match
no but you gotta take it to a tire shop as soon as possible.cant drive like that forever
It is unsafe, you use it as a get me home fix as long as you stay below 50mph. Change it as soon as you can.
Yes. The 'normal' tire will pull or steer the car to the opposite side because of the larger diameter. It is OK to use until you can replace the tire with one the same size.
Not in city driving, but don't take it out on the highway, or if you do, drive slowly.
There will be some difference in the performance between the tyres if they have a different pattern, width and wall rigidity. As long as you only use the spare as a get you home measure and keep the speed down to say 50mph you should be fine
yes, you should not mix profiles other than in an emergency to get you to a safer place or to a garage. max of 50 KPH is what car manufacturers normally suggest.
It's fine to drive as long as there isn't a massive difference, ie if the original is 14" or above it will be fine as the size of the side wall will make up the difference.
yes it does, do not do it
I drove around for weeks with a full-size spare and 3 18 inch alloys, it was fine.
