I have no valve caps on the tires of my car, how long before all the air comes out of them?
Answers:
it wont unless valve is faulty
if you are missing the stem, that's an issue, if you are only missing the little caps for the stem, you'll be fine until someone releases the air....
Not having the caps doesn't matter. You have to push in that little rod in the middle of the valve to get air to come out.
Not long, go get it fixed.
1 -2 weeks i think
fun fact: your tires lose a pound of pressure every month
That Cap only holds out dirt water and moisture.
Once the actual seal , (the valve core ) goes bad then it begins to leak air.
There is really no specific time.
i be stuck if they did leak - mine keep getting pinched - buggers
Valve caps do NOT keep air in your tires.they prevent dirt from getting into the valve just below them. If the valves are still good, you will not lose air. It is a good idea to have caps on the valve stems to keep the valves clean.
The caps do not make the seal, they cover the seal (called a schrader valve) to keep it clean.
as long as your valve stem don't leak you should be fine till one of your buddies let the air out
If you're in the U.S., go to a store like Wal-mart or Target and pick up a pack of 4. They're incredibly cheap.
unless ur valve itself is messed up the air ain't gonna come out ever.. i mean overtime eventually over the years it'll happen but its not gonna happen in one week.. its just like having a valve cap.. no difference..
Dust caps are there to stop muck and dust getting into the valve, not to stop air coming out. Go to a scrap yard if it's a cash issue.
Valve caps are purely to keep the valves clean, they do not prevent air loss.
They are dust caps so ..never
Nothing will happen until water, sand and muck damages the valve. So how long depends on how much you drive, and in what conditions. If you live in a place with cold winters, it probably wont survive a whole winter.
The valve caps have nothing to do with losing air.
The Proper term is Dust cap as thats all they stop.
It won't unless your valve is defective or the tire got functured.
simply steal some from somebody else's car, its a never ending cycle, happens to me all the time
You won't lose air unless the valve stem core is leaking. Put some soapy water right on the end of the valve stem and see if it bubbles. If it does you have air leaking out. You can buy a valve core tool at the auto parts store and try tightening the core.
I'd say roughly 5 to 10 years depending on how the weather conditions are.By not having them you are leaving the valves open to weather conditons and they may get stuck when you go to put air in though.
till you get a puncture. the caps only stop dirt getting into the valve and PERHAPS causing a problem.
The caps don't stop air leaks. They are to protect the value pin from being accidently activated by a stone or other hard object which may be picked up from the road.
all who are answering this questin should really be advising her/him to go to the garage immediately honestly isnt that a receipe for disaster.
Your air won't come out but if want valve stem covers they sell them for just a few cents at an automobile store.
the air won't come out unless the valve is pushed inward by someone or something the cap is just added protection for the valve
donotworryaslongasthevaluestem.
the caps are just to keep the dust, dirt and road grim from building up in the valve stem
The caps are there to make it that more difficult to access the valve stem and release air. They really were never designed to seal the air in the tire. They are there to keep debris out of the valve stem which could cause air to be released.
u won't leak air don't worry
